The Florence Dance Festival — Quattro Maggiore
("Four Seasons") is a new production of the Florence
Dance Company that was presented at the Florence Dance
Festival on the evenings of July 14 and July 15, 2009, in
the Piazza Santissima Annunziata, in the heart of Florence.
The ballet was set to the music of Vivaldi, and the art of
Adi Da Samraj. Adi Da's art pieces were then on display in
the Piazza throughout the completion of the Festival on July
20, including during the evenings of the other scheduled dance
events.
The Florence Dance Company gave an additional
performance of the ballet on July 18, 2009, at the world-renowned
Uffizi Gallery,
on the Uffizi's roof terrace overlooking the Palazzo Vecchio
and the Piazza della Signoria.

An
idea took shape associated with the great international
artist Adi Da Samraj after a meeting with Richard Quinn
of Da
Plastique, the company with the mandate to promote the
work of the artist. Together with the art critic Giuliano
Serafini, who in the past was instrumental in associating
our dance with the art of Adi Da, we selected from the vast
repertoire of the artist four works that beautifully complement
the requirements of the Ballet. The current title of the
ballet, "Four Seasons", reflects this juxtaposition between
plasticity and movement, visual art and music.

Adi Da’s art shines with joy. The colors are
so bright and happy, it is wonderful to dance to His art.
