Under Clear Blue Skies

Da Love-Ananda Mahal Sanctuary, with Mt. Waialeale in the background

One afternoon in September of 1999, while residing at Da Love-Ananda Mahal Sanctuary on Kauai, Adi Da was sitting on the deck behind His house with a few devotees. He had been gazing out towards Mt. Waialeale[1] in the distance when He began to speak.

Bhagavan Adi Da told the devotees there with Him that He had been working with Mt. Waialeale since 1978, when He first stepped foot onto Da Love-Ananda Mahal. Adi Da made a gesture towards the mountain and said, "The mountain is as holy as Arunachala or any other mountain in India."[2]

Adi Da went on to describe how the Wailua River, which flows behind His house, begins at the very top of Mt. Waialeale, said to be the wettest spot on earth because of the average amount of rainfall. The year-round rains gather in the crater and then overflow down the mountain to merge into the Wailua. From there the water begins its journey down to the estuary, where the river merges with the sea.

Adi Da explained how traditionally the Hawaiians had regarded Mt. Waialeale, the Wailua River, and the land of Kauai to be sacred — and that He Himself had been involved in a great Puja on the island of Kauai, which involved His working directly with the natural and supernatural forces there.

There is a old heiau (Hawaiian temple) located on the beach where the Wailua River enters the Pacific Ocean, Bhagavan Adi Da said. He then pointed out that His house was located on the Wailua River at the very mid-point, the heart center, between Mt. Waialeale and the sea. The river, which runs directly behind His house, is the conduit between the mountain and the sea.

It was a clear, cloudless Hawaiian afternoon as Beloved Bhagavan began to speak about the abundance of water surrounding His house at Da Love-Ananda Mahal. He spoke about the abundance of moisture in the air, how the island of Kauai is surrounded by water, how the river circles around His Sanctuary there, and how Mt. Waialeale is the wettest spot on earth. Bhagavan Adi Da spoke about the True Nature of His Divine Presence and Siddhi being associated with the element of water.

And then, without warning, under clear blue skies, it began to rain so suddenly and so forcefully that everyone was drenched in a matter of seconds.

With the rain pouring down and the river rushing behind His house, Beloved Bhagavan moved everyone into a simple shed nearby that was being used for storage. With devotees huddled around Him, He spoke further about the Siddhi of His Divine Person, Presence, and State as the Radiant Water of Consciousness Itself.

All mere ideas are as an illusion of weather or a "localization" of separately "objectified" (or merely apparent) natural water. Reality Itself Is As An Absolute Rain or A Perfect Universalization of The Inherently Perfect (and Perfectly Indivisible) Self-Unity of The One True Water Itself. The only-by-Me Revealed and Given Reality-Way of Adidam Is The Absolute Rain of Reality Itself.
