||In this discourse, Adi Da Samraj suggests that the Way He offers is not based on this assumption of separate self, but rather identification with that that is transcendent from the body-mind, the Divine Self-Condition.
The devotee asking the question of Adi Da was a former student of Zen Buddhism, so in this discourse Adi Da refers to some metaphors that are part of the Zen Buddhism Tradition.
The excerpt is from the DVD, Human History Is One Great Tradition. Subtitles in English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, and Hebrew. A CD version is also available.
This talk excerpt is followed by a clip of Darshan of Adi Da (at 6:21).
Avataric Discourses. From mid-2004 to early 2006, Avatar Adi Da offered a unique series of Discourses, broadcast live over the Internet to His devotees worldwide. During these occasions, Avatar Adi Da answered questions from those present in the room with Him, but also from devotees all over the world via speakerphone. As He had always done, even from the beginning of His Teaching Work, Avatar Adi Da addressed each devotee personally, but was also Instructing all beings, in all times and places. Many of these Discourses are available as DVDs and CDs from The Dawn Horse Press.

Sixth stage traditions. For more on sixth stage traditions (including Advaita Vedanta and the sixth stage traditions within Buddhism) and their relation to Adi Da's seventh stage Way of Adidam, read Adi Da's book, The Gnosticon, in which He thoroughly examines the Transcendental Teachings of the ancient Sages in relation to His Transcendental Spiritual Way of Adidam.
Darshan (or Sacred Sighting of the Guru) is a particularly potent occasion in which devotees focus on the Divine Revelation that Adi Da is Spiritually Transmitting. (A video recording like this one, of a Darshan occasion, also Spiritually Transmits.) The occasion is usually silent, but is occasionally accompanied by devotees chanting. In some occasions, you may see Adi Da scanning above the heads of the devotees present, working to draw His Divine Light down into each devotee. You may also hear devotees blowing the sacred conch, at the beginning and end of a Darshan occasion, to let everyone know of the Sighting of the Guru. Often, near the end of an occasion, Adi Da will bless a bowl of prasad (often dates, or something similar that is sweet and edible), which is then distributed to everyone present. At the end of a Darshan occasion, you may also see devotees prostrating on the ground in gratitude for the Revelation their Guru just granted them. Adi Da describes Darshan as "the fundamental principle" of Spiritual Realization in this video talk excerpt. Over time, through constant meditation on the Revelation being transmitted by the Realizer, The Realizer's Realization is duplicated in the devotee.
