Adi Da's very humorous and wonderfully instructive talk from 1987, The Way Of Fun, about how, after being around His devotees, He "finally got it", that "it's time for the Siddhas" to adapt to modern times, "time for the Truth to change". This new way ("The Way of Fun") — for realizing God without requiring self-transcendence — will "require nothing of you except to really dig those Divine Vibes." The talk is Adi Da's masterful reflection of how the ego is always trying to revise the Way into something that is self-fulfilling rather than self-transcending, something that has no requirements and no difficulties, and that takes no time at all. "So whatever kind of association you have with Me . . . as long as it's fun, you're happy to do it. But if it requires anything of you, your resistance comes on immediately." On the evening of October 12, 2004, Avatar Adi Da not only answered His devotees’ questions (ranging from the capacity of discrimination to living a Divinely Purposed life), He also addressed the chronic self-reference "I" in the patterns of speech. He pointed out that there is no actual experience of such a one, though language and thought are built upon the illusion of a separate "self". Adi Da contrasted this ego-based condition to the Wordless and Thoughtless State of the Divine.

In this discourse excerpt, Adi Da addresses the fact that the assumption of a separate self or being, is not really the case. It is, in fact, an illusion — a "lie" that rules our entire life. But based on this assumption, we assume all kinds of limitations, and struggle to get out of our suffering through the very means (our assumption that we are separate) which binds us in the first place. All that does is reinforce the illusion.

This excerpt is disc one, track 1 of the double-CD, Science Is A Method, Not A Philosophy, in which Avatar Adi Da unravels present-day scientific presumptions, with great humor and penetrating insight. Adi Da reveals how scientific materialism has replaced the sacred orientation in life and indoctrinated humankind into limited belief systems, discussing common views about evolution, astronomy versus astrology, ancient religions, the expanding universe, the "language" of mathematics and shape, and more. In addition, He masterfully describes how knowledge is an effort to achieve power over nature, based on the fundamental illusion that there is such a thing as an independent (or "objective") "point of view". In this process, Avatar Adi Da calls His listeners to be free of all false authorities, and to consider the Way that perfectly transcends "point of view" itself.
