He describes The Basket of Tolerance as a tool for transcending religious provincialism and the limits of one's cultural upbringing. Through use of such a tool, one is relieved of one's "belief systems", but is also made increasingly aware of the Reality-based Way that truly liberates.

In this passionate talk, Adi Da speaks to the crisis mankind is in and the urgency for true spiritual practice and the disposition that undermines mankind's assumption of separation.
Adi Da describes the extreme urgency of His Communication and Offering — for those who are in absolute need of Realization of That which is Perfectly Sufficient: Adi Da's Divine State. He points out that most human beings are distracted, and not aware of how profoundly they need what He is offering. Taking up the "right life" disciplines serves the growth that brings the devotee to that point of (undistracted, dis-illusioned) awareness of (and urgency and profound seriousness regarding) our real situation.

Adi Da: "Science is not a human activity, because it is an activity in which what is specifically human is fundamentally suppressed, abstracted, separated out. We're supposed to be devoted to finding out about this external world. We're not supposed to be devoted to participation in a total world in which reality includes not only the objects of perception and conception, but the process of perception and conception, and the being or consciousness in which perception and conception are experienced or recognized."
