This is Poem 24 from Adi Da's book of poetry, Crazy Da Must Sing—Inclined to His Weaker Side. It was recited by Adi Da on August 12, 1982, at Da Love-Ananda Mahal in Kauai, Hawaii.

No one like me has appeared in this place before.
Am I only to live and die,
and thus feed the earth?
Should I only live and die,
and thus create the mystery of a holy ground?
Will generations pass this place
of my dilemmas,
feel the movements under foot
and never know the reasons
and the meaning
of the currents of bliss that fill them?
Will the earth itself
perform my only shout?
Will the rot of my few bodies
be my only song?
Will no one understand?
Will all of this,
even the holy ground,
fall unknown into the sea,
without a parcel of my living left
to heal the feet of pilgrims?
No one else can suffer the mysteries of my birth
or death.
And only my own children
can build a temple
where I rise and fall.

Adi Da talks about how His Teaching Word is a form of Spiritual Transmission, that enables Divine Communion with Him (if the devotee is in the right devotional disposition), in the same way that a Murti photograph does, or any of the other forms of Agency that Adi Da has created for this purpose.



• Commentary from Megan Anderson (at 12:44) — Megan Anderson is an editor in the Adidam Editorial Department. Megan talks about Adi Da's great, final masterpiece, The Aletheon as the purest communication and Transmission of Adi Da Himself (among all His many, extraordinary books), and describes receiving the Revelation of Adi Da as she was proofreading The Aletheon before its publication.

Adi Da: "My Reality-Teaching is unparalleled Spiritual Transmission, occurring under the most extraordinary circumstances. It is not the product of an ordinary mind or a kind of scholarly commentary. It is a direct expression of Spiritual Transformation, of Spiritual Power, of Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, and (necessarily) Divine Being, Consciousness, and Love-Bliss. It does not arise in Me or through Me in any ordinary fashion. It is an utterly spontaneous and Transcendental Spiritual Event."

W tym fragmencie nigdy wcześniej nieopublikowanego dyskursu Adi Da mówi o konieczności rozczarowania się życiem śmiertelnika w pozytywnym sensie. Pozytywne rozczarowanie pojawia się, kiedy zaczynasz rozumieć i rezygnujesz ze stresujących i ostatecznie daremnych poszukiwań osobistego przetrwania, ziemskiego szczęścia i ostatecznego spełnienia w życiu. Tylko wtedy może pojawić się ponowne „poznawanie” i ekstatyczny udział w Rzeczywistości, i w relacjach z Prawdziwym Urzeczywistnionym.

In "Pozytywne rozczarowanie" ("Positive Disillusionment"), a video excerpt from an Avataric Discourse, Adi Da speaks about the necessity to become disillusioned with mortal life in a positive sense. Positive disillusionment is emerging when one begins to understand and relinquish the stressful and ultimately futile search for personal survival, worldly happiness, and ultimate life fulfillment. Only then can one be drawn into recognizing, learning about, and ecstatically participating in Reality Itself, in relationship to a True Realizer.

Adi Dan väkevä kehoitus ymmärtämykseen ja elämän ja kuoleman kehän ylitykseen "Sydämen muuttumattoman Tuntemuksen ja Nautinnon" kautta.

Adi Da recites "Sydämen muuttumattoman Tuntemuksen ja Nautinnon" ("The Heart of Understanding"), the Prologue to His autobiography, The Knee Of Listening. "The Heart of Understanding" also is the Prologue to His book, Easy Death.

The recitation is accompanied by photos of Adi Da.

"The Heart of Understanding" is extraordinarily good news: death itself can be transcended! The death of the body-mind is not a problem, and is utterly acceptable, if one realizes and stands as Consciousness Itself, in which all mortal forms and limited worlds are arising.

In the final words of "The Heart of Understanding", Adi Da reveals that He is That: Consciousness Itself. Because this is so, He transmits that Revelation to all beings, and provides (and is) the means whereby all of us finally can be free of mortality and the mortal vision.

This video clip is an excerpt from the DVD, The Relationship To The Guru Is The Constant In Life.

By tendency, people are bound to the natural cycle of ups and downs. Neither bodily pleasures nor spiritual pursuits result in True Freedom from this constant phasing. One path merely accentuates the descending (or bodily) experiences and the other, the ascending (or subtle) experiences.

In this Discourse, Avatar Adi Da reveals with absolute clarity how the relationship with the Guru gives freedom from this trap—because the Guru is the Manifestation of the Condition that is Prior to this mechanical cycling, not part of it.

Watching this DVD will transport viewers to a special moment in Adidam history. July 29, 1973, was the day Avatar Adi Da left Los Angeles for a Yajna (sacred journey) through India and Nepal. He returned as “Bubba Free John”, His first spontaneously revealed Teaching-Name. Thus, this was the last Discourse He gave as “Franklin Jones” (Avatar Adi Da’s birth name).
